2016 – A Year in Review

January 4th, 2017 by Katherine Moller

As many of you know, I love this time of year.  Yes, I love Christmas, but I also love the idea of starting over.  The idea of taking a look at who you are right now, and who you want to become.  Twice a year I go through the process of taking

????????????????????????????????????????????????????

a look back at what I have accomplished, and looking forward to what I want to change in the future.  I find this freeing!

Looking back, 2016 was a good year for me.  Here are some of the things that I accomplished:

  1. Recorded a new Album that goes in a completely new direction from anything that I have done before.
  2. Booked the Playhouse for my CD Release show.  I am not a big risk taker, so this Save the Datewas a really big step for me!
  3. Started doing Facebook Live videos on a regular basis.
  4. Ran my first successful online fiddle class.
  5. Improved all of my social media numbers:  Over 1000 likes on Facebook, 9500 followers on Twitter, and over 750 people on my mailing list.
  6. Walked at least 30 minutes 5 days a week.Cultural Expressions
  7. Gone to Pilates 2-3 times a week.
  8. Tracked my eating for 130 days straight.
  9. Lost 5 pounds.
  10. Renovated the bathroom.

You will notice that these accomplishments are not only about my career, but also about health and personal goals.

So, looking forward to 2017, what is in store?

  1. Album launch and all the work that accompanies that!Residency
  2. Launching a new session of Fiddle Kickstart, my online fiddle class.
  3. Conquer YouTube.  By conquer, all I mean is to start posting regularly.  I find the thought of posting on YouTube to be very scary, but it is time to tackle this medium.  It is huge for musicians, and I know that I am missing out!
  4. Release a music video.
  5. Work on movie/TV/video game placements.
  6. Be in touch with family and friends on a more regular basis.  Many of my family members and friends are spread out around the continent, and it is easy to lose touch with them.

As far as health goals, I feel good about the amount of exercise that I am getting, and the eating habits that I have been working on (not including the Christmas holiday), so I would like to see those habits continue through 2017.

This is still a work in progress, but at this point, these are my goals!
