Classical Music
Katherine performs regularly with the following ensembles:
Atlantic Sinfonia
Atlantic Sinfonia Atlantique, a unique hybrid orchestra with an audience friendly approach to classical chamber music, brings together some of the best professional musicians from the Maritime region.
Under the artistic direction of Richard Hornsby and led by New Brunswick’s David Adams, as concertmaster, the group performs in 18th century style, standing and performing without conductor and often in non-traditional performance settings with fine acoustics. The resulting product is high quality entertainment - performed with freshness and vibrancy.
Atlantic Sinfonia is dedicated to introducing concert-goers to the great repertoire for small orchestra. Traditional pieces and crowd favourites are always on the program, but many will find they enjoy being introduced to new works as well. A close bond with the audience members and an entertaining educational component around the music being performed are always part of the show.
Members of Atlantic Sinfonia are drawn from Symphony Nova Scotia and Symphony New Brunswick, among other ensembles and orchestras around the region.
